Working in a busy, multi-site SME, you’ll play a key role in supporting managers and employees across a broad range of HR activity — from employee relations and policy development to HR projects that improve processes and enhance the employee experience. Responsibilities Acting as a trusted first point of contact for managers on HR matters, offering clear and practical advice. Managing a range of employee relations cases — including disciplinary, grievance, capability and absence management — ensuring fair, consistent, and compliant outcomes. Undertaking investigations where required, and guiding managers confidently through HR processes. Supporting on payroll, contract, and benefits queries and advising in line with policy and employment law. Reviewing and improving HR policies and procedures, identifying opportunities to streamline and modernise. Assisting with HR system administration, data accuracy, and reporting. Leading and supporting HR projects that align with organisational priorities and future growth plans. Carrying out periodic HR audits and supporting compliance-related checks. Your Experience We’re looking for someone who’s proactive, adaptable, and enjoys variety. You’ll bring: Solid generalist HR experience, ideally within an SME or multi-site environment. Strong ER case management skills with up-to-date employment law knowledge Experience managing Payroll and Benefits queries Excellent written and verbal communication, with a confident yet empathetic approach. The ability to manage multiple priorities, stay organised, and deliver to deadlines. A collaborative mindset, someone who enjoys being part of a supportive, close-knit team.
