SEN Teaching Assistant - Primary | Part-Time | Taunton

Days: Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday
Hours: 08.30-15.30
Pay: £14.66 - £16.56 per hour (depending on experience & pay type)
Prospero Teaching is looking for a caring, confident and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Taunton. You will be supporting pupils with a range of additional needs and helping them to access learning in a safe, structured, and positive environment.
The Role
Provide 1:1 or small-group support for pupils with SEN, including Autism, ADHD, communication needs, or social, emotional and behavioural needs.
Create a calm, encouraging learning environment where pupils feel safe and supported.
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to follow individual support plans.
Use strategies to help pupils regulate their emotions, remain on task, and engage positively with learning.
Support pupils during class, transitions, and playtimes as needed.
The Ideal Candidate
Experience working with SEN, particularly Autism, ADHD or SEMH needs.
A nurturing, patient and resilient approach.
Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils.
Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
Right to work in the UK.
