Join to apply for the Specialist Audiologist role at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and forward-looking Band 6 Specialist Audiologist / Clinical Scientist (Audiology) to join the Audiology Service at Oxford University Hospitals, one of the UK’s largest teaching hospitals. Our services include comprehensive diagnostic and rehabilitation support for hearing loss, tinnitus, and balance disorders, along with paediatric audiology and a busy Auditory Implant Programme.

The position is funded at 0.95FTE (35.6 hours/week) with potential extension to a full-time contract. It is a 3-year fixed-term contract to cover an internal secondment.

This role covers both adult and paediatric audiology services. Responsibilities include providing diagnostic assessments, hearing aid rehabilitation for adults, and conducting hearing assessments and aid provision for children. Support for ENT clinics and supervision of trainees are also expected. Full training will be provided where needed, and you will contribute to service development.

Oxford University Hospitals provides a comprehensive paediatric audiology service, including assessments for newborns, behavioural and objective tests for children of all ages, and habilitation. The adult service manages complex hearing loss cases, tinnitus, and hearing therapy, with opportunities to support neuro-otology and neurofibromatosis clinics. Our auditory implant programme offers seamless rehabilitation pathways for patients of all ages.

You will join a large, multidisciplinary team involved in training and continuing professional development, including STP trainees and degree apprenticeships.

Requirements include an Audiologist or Clinical Scientist (Audiology) with a BSc, PTP, STP, or MSc in Audiology, registered with AHCS or HCPC. NHS experience in adult and paediatric audiology is preferred. Excellent communication skills, flexibility, and teamwork are essential.
