Job Description
The Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Mechanical Technician performs skilled mechanical work in support of the overall facility operation and in maintaining operation of the facility in compliance with established production schedules and plant output requirements.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Performs a wide variety of mechanical repairs on all plant process systems and equipment
2. Plans details of jobs assigned
3. Consults with operations and technical groups on safety procedures and job hazards
4. Gives work direction and instruction to other team members
5. Inspects and lubricates all plant equipment routinely and makes necessary adjustments to ensure that equipment is operating efficiently
6. Maintains work areas in a clean and orderly manner
7. Attend HSE Inspections, audits, assessments, and meetings
8. Conduct Risk identification/analysis/assessments
9. Reports promptly any HSE infringements to supervisor / management
10. Actively participates in and promotes company health, safety & environmental campaigns, initiatives, policies and procedures, and ensures personal safety and that of colleagues at all times
Qualifications
11. Recognised engineering apprenticeship
12. IOSH Managing Safely
13. HNC/D qualification in engineering desirable
14. Responsibilities in maintenance or engineering role in a 24/7 heavy process environment, involving, gearboxes, conveyors, steam raising plant, valves, rotating plant and hydraulic systems
15. Fault diagnosis and problem solving
16. Working individually & in a team to achieve business targets
17. Assisting with outage planning & management
18. Producing & maintaining site documentation records & procedures
19. Management of spares, equipment and tooling
