A well-established and growing accountancy and audit practice in Portsmouth is looking to appoint an experienced Audit Manager to join its expanding audit team. This is a client-facing role offering responsibility for managing a diverse audit portfolio, developing staff, and supporting the continued growth of the firm.
This opportunity would suit a qualified ACA or ACCA accountant with strong audit management experience who is confident operating in a modern, fully digital audit environment.
The Role
As Audit Manager, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality audit services while building strong client relationships and supporting team development.
Key responsibilities include:
Delivering a first-class audit service to clients, ensuring their needs are met professionally and efficiently
Conducting all work in line with ethical, professional and regulatory standards
Managing and strengthening client relationships, while identifying opportunities for new business development
Planning, controlling and reviewing audit assignments to ensure work is completed accurately, on time and within budget
Managing, supervising and developing audit staff on assignments, providing clear feedback and coaching
Producing clear, concise and professional audit reports
Working confidently in a paperless audit environment
Candidate Profile
ACA or ACCA qualified
Strong practical experience in UK audit, ideally within a regional or mid-tier practice
Proven ability to plan, manage and review audits, meeting deadlines and budgets
Demonstrable experience mentoring and developing junior team members
