Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and reliable School Caretaker to oversee the facilities and grounds across two key Academy sites in Blackpool (FY4). This unique opportunity requires a dynamic individual or individuals capable of efficiently managing split shifts and ensuring the smooth operation of school premises.
Key Responsibilities: This role involves a split shift across two school locations. Your mornings will commence at the first school site, where you will be responsible for essential opening procedures, security checks, and initial maintenance tasks. In the afternoons, you will transition to our second school site to manage closing procedures and a range of afternoon duties. These include, but are not limited to:
Conducting routine safety inspections and generating maintenance reports.
Ensuring the upkeep and presentation of school grounds.
Managing stock levels and ordering school and cleaning supplies.
Facilitating access for cleaning staff and other contractors.
Maintaining school water fountains.
Distributing milk to classrooms and staff areas.
Supervising and assisting with the delivery of school food to the kitchen.
Performing minor repairs and general upkeep tasks as required.
Who We're Looking For: We are looking for a highly organised, reliable, and practically skilled individual with a proven track record in facilities management. The ideal candidate will:
Possess prior experience as a School Caretaker, Site Supervisor, or in a comparable building maintenance or facilities management role.
Demonstrate strong organisational skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team (if sharing the role).
Have excellent practical skills for minor repairs and general maintenance, coupled with a thorough understanding of health and safety regulations.
Exhibit strong communication skills, enabling effective interaction with pupils, staff, and visitors.
Hold a valid UK Driving Licence and have access to a reliable vehicle (highly desirable due to the need to travel between sites).
