Follow us on X at @edincounciljobs View Retail and Reception Assistant job description Responsibilities Qualifications, training & professional membership: Excellent literacy, numeracy (Standard Grade English and Maths at credit level or equivalent), inter-personal and selling skills Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Understanding: Experience of retail sales Knowledge and experience of reception and administration duties Ability to layout and present products in an attractive and engaging manner Experience of cash handling and retail accounting procedures Experience of providing excellent customer care within a busy, high profile visitor destination environment Understands and resolves customer and visitor needs and takes opportunities to improve customer services Able to engage visitors of all ages, abilities and nationalities in a confident, friendly manner and can communicate a broad range of information about the collections, buildings and the city Is proactive and uses initiative in meeting the needs of visitors and customers Essential Ability to work effectively within a team Ability to maintain positive relationships with colleagues, volunteers and workshop providers
