The Role
We are looking for a Planner - Service Delivery Transport to join our team in Hatfield. This is a high-impact, fast-paced role where you will be responsible for creating the most cost-effective transport plans possible. You will balance operational KPIs with driver hours regulations, ensuring we have the right people and vehicles in the right place at the right time.
What you’ll be doing:
* Strategic Planning: Creating daily and weekly transport plans and rotas to meet Ocado’s transport needs.
* Operational Coordination: Scheduling drivers and trailers using various systems and spreadsheets to ensure a seamless dispatch profile.
* Compliance: Monitoring and ensuring 100% compliance with EU and UK Drivers’ Hours Rules and Regulations.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Working closely with Supply Chain, CFC, and Operational teams to coordinate inbound deliveries and resolve operational issues.
* KPI Reporting: Reporting on daily/weekly transport performance and managing LGV driver enquiries with a customer-service mindset.
About You:
* Detail-Oriented: Strong numeracy and literacy skills with an eagle eye for detail in a high-administration environment.
* Problem Solver: Ability to think on your feet and solve logistical challenges in a high-pressure, 24/7 operation.
* Tech Savvy: Proficient in Microsoft Excel; previous experience with transport planning software is a plus but not essential (full training provided).
* Communicator: Confident engaging with stakeholders at all levels, from drivers to senior operational managers.
* Flexible: Willing to work a rota-based shift pattern (Monday to Sunday) to support our 24/7 business.
