4 Month Contract With A Local Authority Job Purpose: To provide high-quality social work support and interventions to children, young people, and vulnerable adults within the local community. The role requires assessment, planning, and implementation of services to safeguard and promote the welfare of individuals while working collaboratively with families, carers, and multi-agency partners. Key Responsibilities: Conduct assessments of children, young people, and adults who may be at risk of harm or require support. Develop and implement care and support plans tailored to the needs of individuals and their families. Provide direct support and advocacy for service users, ensuring their voices and choices are central to decision-making. Identify and respond to safeguarding concerns promptly, following statutory procedures and local policies. Take appropriate action to protect vulnerable adults and children from abuse, neglect, or exploitation. Maintain detailed and accurate records of assessments, interventions, and outcomes. Work effectively with schools, healthcare providers, police, voluntary agencies, and other relevant partners to ensure coordinated support. Attend and contribute to multi-agency meetings and case conferences as required. Willingness and ability to travel outside the borough to meet the needs of children, young people, and vulnerable adults. Engage with service users in a variety of settings, including home visits, community facilities, and specialist services. Maintain up-to-date professional knowledge in social work practice, legislation, and local authority procedures. Participate in supervision, reflective practice, and training to develop skills and ensure high-quality service delivery. Comply with all statutory requirements, policies, and professional standards, including GDPR and confidentiality. Requirements Professional qualification in Social Work (CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England (or relevant professional body). Experience in statutory social work with children and/or adults. Knowledge of relevant legislation (Children Act 1989/2004, Care Act 2014, Working Together 2018, etc.). Experience of multi-agency working and safeguarding procedures.
