Join Our Team as a Residential Deputy Manager!
Role: Residential Deputy Manager - Children's Home
Contract: Full Time, Permanent
Salary: Base salary of £31,105.28, with potential earnings up to £34,362.56 through sleep-in shifts.
Location: Wigton
Specific Hours: 42 hours per week, with a rotating shift pattern.
Are you ready to make a difference? We are on the lookout for an experienced Residential Deputy Manager to join our dedicated team in Wigton. At North Lakes Children's Services, we pride ourselves on providing therapeutic residential care and education for boys aged 6-18, helping them build resilience, self-esteem, and essential life skills.
We currently have an exciting management opportunity at our 4-bedroom home in Carlisle. If you have an approachable leadership style and the ability to inspire your team, we want to hear from you!
Main Responsibilities
* Ensure the Statement of Purpose reflects the needs of the young people and outlines staff qualifications and expertise.
* Facilitate effective communication within the team to support operational duties.
* Manage and develop quality direct services for young people, ensuring compliance with our policies and procedures.
* Identify and meet staff training and development needs, assisting in training as required.
* Ensure compliance with Health and Safety Regulations in line with our policies.
* Regularly inspect the home’s condition, ensuring all equipment is in good working order.
* Oversee financial budgets and ensure compliance with our administrative procedures.
* Promote and implement our Equality and Diversity policies, ensuring staff understand Child Protection Procedures.
* Set, monitor, and evaluate quality standards for individual and team performance.
* Establish and manage team communication systems to effectively convey company policies and objectives.
* Ensure professional practice is maintained to the highest standards, focusing on continual improvement.
What We’re Looking For
* A solid understanding of the challenges faced by young people in care.
* Relevant qualifications: Residential Childcare/Families Practitioner Diploma, Children and Young People's Workforce, NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care, or equivalent.
* Excellent communication and listening skills.
* A willingness to learn and grow.
* A collaborative spirit to work effectively within a small team.
* Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check (covered by us).
* Experience with Emotional Behavioural Disorder, Social/Residential Work, or Youth Work is a plus.
* A full, clean UK driving licence, with the ability to cover at other Residential Homes as needed.
