NHS Forth Valley seeks to appoint enthusiastic and highly motivated individuals to join the emergency medicine team. The new appointments will join the existing permanent medical staff team of 15 Emergency Medicine Consultants, 3 Emergency Medical Practitioners and 5 Specialty Doctors, providing senior clinical decision making and leadership to Forth Valley’s Emergency Department.
It is expected that the successful applicant will have a high clinical profile with the drive and initiative to achieve and sustain the highest standards of emergency medical care. The new appointment will participate in the on-site out of hours rota as part of normal job planned activity and will share with the existing Consultants the supervision and shop‑floor training of junior medical and nursing staff. Consultant support (remotely) is also provided to a nurse‑led Minor Injuries Unit at Stirling Community Hospital.
Responsibilities:
NHS Forth Valley is undergoing a period of dynamic change in relation to the organisation of acute unscheduled care. This is part of a wider improvement plan which incorporates a new Flow Navigation Hub (FNH) and Urgent Care Centre (UCC) in line with Scottish Government directed service improvement changes and same‑day emergency care. There may be opportunities for the interested candidate to have job‑planned sessions within this new service if interested.
