Job Description

Fundraising Assistant
Responsible to: Fundraising Manager
Location: Central Birmingham (hybrid working)
Salary: £26,021 per annum
Contract: Permanent

We are recruiting for a fundraising assistant within our national fundraising team based in Birmingham. This is an exciting time to join Groundwork UK, as we expand our brand-new fundraising team and continue to develop support for federation-wide projects across the country.

About Groundwork
Groundwork takes practical action to create a fair and green future in which people, places, and nature thrive.

We support local communities and businesses to build capacity and resilience as this is vital if we are to tackle hardship, achieve a just transition to net-zero and help nature recover in a way that reduces inequality and leads to better work and healthier, happier lives.

Last year Groundwork accessed over £100 million of funding to support our mission.

Our Groundwork 2028 strategy sets out how we will support practical action to create a fair and green future in which people, places and nature thrive over the next five years.

Groundwork UK
Groundwork UK is the national body of the Groundwork federation, supporting, championing and representing the work of Groundwork Trusts across the country.

This includes building national relationships with funders and policymakers, securing resources to support local delivery and acting as a managing agent for programmes and contracts delivered by Groundwork Trusts and other partners.

About the Role
The Fundraising Assistant will play a key role in supporting Groundwork UK’s fundraising efforts and helping us achieve income goals. They will assist the fundraising team in developing relationships with corporate supporters and individual donors and help secure unrestricted voluntary income. Primary responsibilities will include processing and thanking donations, maintaining relationships with donors and fundraisers, leading on digital communications for fundraising, and assisting with corporate partnership fundraising, alongside other administrative tasks.

Working closely with the rest of the fundraising team, the ideal candidate will have strong organisational skills and a passion for developing relationships with supporters. You will ideally have experience within the fundraising sector, or administrative/ customer service experience elsewhere.

As a growing team with varying responsibilities, focus and targets will change from time to time, so a flexible working attitude is required. There will be scope and opportunity to expand and develop the team as we continue to grow the fundraising function.
