Job Purpose:
The candidate should have experience in new product development within an EV automotive environment to meet worldwide market requirements. The role requires excellent technical capabilities that can be applied in a dynamic and challenging engineering environment.
Accountabilities & Activities:
* Develop and manage component, system, and vehicle-level requirements and targets.
* Manage and update test procedures; create new ones as needed.
* Build robust DVPs for components, systems, and vehicles.
* Plan and lead instrumentation efforts to meet targets.
* Coordinate with testing facilities and support decision-making with cost-effective solutions.
* Manage spares and consumables to ensure testing aligns with plans.
* Support testing facilities, including travel if required, to prevent delays.
* Coordinate shipment of equipment and vehicles for testing with cross-functional teams.
* Manage teardown activities and liaise with stakeholders for sign-off.
* Maintain comprehensive testing documentation and generate sign-off reports.
* Support the program team in testing issue resolution and root cause analysis.
* Participate in benchmarking activities to enhance vehicle competitiveness.
* Collaborate with the prototype team to prepare components and vehicles for testing.
* Demonstrate high technical competence, including data analysis and summarization.
Essential/Desirable Requirements & Qualifications:
* Degree in Engineering (Automotive, Mechanical, Electrical)
* Experience with electric vehicle testing in automotive or commercial sectors.
* Experience with instrumentation, data logging, debugging, and rig/buck design.
* Proficiency in test procedure development and reporting.
* Root cause analysis and testing facilities management experience.
* Willingness and ability to travel for testing and root cause investigations.
* Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset.
* Ability to work independently and in startup environments.
Desirable Behaviours:
* Experience with vehicle electrification and understanding of its impact on testing.
* Customer-focused approach, resilience, and leadership in root cause analysis.
* Ability to present technical material clearly and work with non-direct reports.
* Comfortable working in a startup environment.
