The Resident Services Team is responsible for assisting tenants in sustaining their tenancies and promoting their independence, quality of life, safeguarding, and health and well-being. This includes dealing with issues such as housing, welfare rights, personal finance, hoarding, tenancy management, mediation, life skills, and personal independence.
We develop a holistic understanding of each resident to serve as the primary contact for other council departments, actively resolving issues such as gas access, hoarding, tenancy fraud, and safeguarding.
Ideally, candidates will have experience in housing or tenancy management or a similar public sector role. Experience in developing relationships with local stakeholders, providing tenancy, housing, and leasehold advice, and knowledge of best practices and compliance are desirable.
The role involves providing effective administrative support for operational activities in a timely, efficient, and cost-effective manner.
The responsibilities include:
1. Engaging with the public face-to-face and via telephone
2. Facilitating meetings as required
3. Monitoring team plans
4. Assisting the Senior Housing Officer and Resident Services Manager in monitoring compliance with targets and standards
5. Updating records and database information
6. Liaising with officers, contractors, and suppliers
7. Demonstrating successful multi-agency working, being outcome-focused, and possessing excellent communication skills
8. Being a skilled negotiator and problem solver
9. Having excellent IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel
10. Working 36 hours per week or as required by the Line Manager
11. Having a full UK driving license and access to a vehicle for work
