Housing Division Temporary Accommodation Officer £27,711 - £30,060 per annum 37 hours per week An opportunity has arisen in our Housing Options Team for an individual who has experience in providing front line customer services. Our Temporary Accommodation Officer will ensure our premises which provide temporary accommodation are safe and in good condition as well as offer support for tenants. They provide practical advice and guidance as well as information about welfare benefits and housing applications. Liaison with specialist support providers is central to the role. We are seeking someone who has experience of working with customers to understand their circumstances and meet their needs. A practical approach to maintaining premises in a good condition is also required. They will need a proven track record of delivering excellent customer service. Good communication skills are essential as well as an ability to use a number of IT packages. Working as part of a small team, the role requires someone who has good organisational skills and can plan and manage their own workload. You will have a positive and approachable manner and the ability to work flexibly. A positive and pragmatic approach to dealing with challenge is required. Appointment to this post will be conditional upon receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of criminal records via the Disclosure and Barring Service, before the appointment is confirmed. A Basic check will be required. This will contain details of convictions and conditional cautions considered to be ‘unspent’ under the terms of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
