About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a junior school in the Sholing area. This role is ideal for someone confident in leading learning, delivering interventions, and supporting whole class teaching when required. You will work closely with teachers, SEN staff, and senior leaders to ensure pupils receive high-quality support that enables them to thrive academically and socially.
The position is full-time, with the school looking to appoint permanently for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
Lead small-group interventions across core subjects.
Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher.
Support whole-class learning and behaviour management.
Work collaboratively with teachers to adapt resources and scaffold learning.
Provide targeted support for pupils with additional needs.
Contribute to assessment, record-keeping, and progress monitoring.
Promote a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment.
Model high expectations for behaviour, engagement, and effort.
Requirements
HLTA qualification or substantial classroom experience at HLTA level.
Strong understanding of the primary curriculum (KS2 focus).
Ability to lead learning confidently and independently.
Experience delivering interventions or covering classes.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
A patient, proactive, and supportive approach to working with young learners.
Knowledge of safeguarding and confidentiality procedures.
Enhanced DBS check (support available if required).
