About The Role

We’re looking for an experienced, time-served Motor Technician to step into a Repair Assessor role and bring their technical expertise into a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

This is a great opportunity for someone who understands vehicle repairs inside out and is ready to take the next step in their career. You’ll be moving away from the tools and into a position where your judgement, knowledge, and decision-making really make an impact.

You’ll be responsible for reviewing repair requests, validating claims against warranty policies, and ensuring every outcome is fair, accurate, and clearly communicated. Alongside this, you’ll work closely with repairers, Customer Service, and independent engineers to keep the repair journey running smoothly for our customers.

If you enjoy analysing problems, making informed decisions, and want a role with real progression opportunities, this could be a strong next move.

Responsibilities

1. Reviewing repair requests across warranty, cosmetic, tyre, and alloy claims
2. Assessing whether repairs are covered in line with policy terms and conditions
3. Analysing evidence such as images, diagnostics, and repairer reports
4. Validating repairs and making decisions on approvals, declines, or alternative solutions
5. Authorising smaller claims (up to £2,500) and managing approvals within agreed limits
6. Escalating higher-value or more complex cases where required
7. Interpreting warranty plans and determining claim eligibility
8. Ensuring all decisions align with technical criteria and policy coverage
9. Coordinating repairs and directing cases to the right repair partners
10. Working closely with repairers to resolve issues and avoid delays
11. Escalating concerns where repairs fall outside expected standards or timelines

About You

12. A time-served Motor Technician with strong hands-on experience
13. NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or similar
14. Solid understanding of general mechanical repairs and diagnostics
15. Experience within a warranty environment is highly desirable
16. Someone confident assessing repairs and making decisions against policy terms
17. Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking
18. A clear communicator who can explain technical decisions to different audiences
19. A proactive, team-focused approach with a desire to progress
