About the Role The Foundation and Supported Learning curriculum area delivers a broad, inclusive, and holistic programme for learners with SEND and those facing a range of other barriers to learning. We are now seeking an enthusiastic, skilled, and adaptable Course Leader to join our dedicated team. You will deliver high-quality teaching across a varied curriculum that blends qualification-based learning with enrichment activities, all grounded in inclusive practice and our shared values. Job Title: Course Leader in Foundation & Supported Learning, 0.8 contract What We’re Looking For We welcome applications from individuals with substantial experience in a similar educational setting, particularly those with a strong background in SEND and supporting learners with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. You will be: An outstanding practitioner with excellent classroom management skills Confident teaching across a diverse and flexible curriculum Able to inspire, engage, and build positive relationships with learners Committed to continuous reflection and improvement Skilled in delivering positive behaviour support strategies that lead to meaningful change Highly knowledgeable in safeguarding and committed to promoting student wellbeing Key Responsibilities Deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment, including planning schemes of work, preparing lessons, marking, and providing individual tutorial support Contribute to course leadership duties in line with Band 2 Lecturer responsibilities, including curriculum development, administration, and pastoral support Work collaboratively with the Area Head, Assistant Area Head, and course leaders to maintain outstanding quality across curriculum delivery Participate in internal and external verification processes Monitor and raise achievement in line with awarding body requirements Maintain and develop professional knowledge and skills Engage fully with the College appraisal and staff development programme Undertake additional duties as required by the College Why Join Us?
