Tradewind Recruitment is working with a well-regarded and inclusive secondary school in Uxbridge that is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team from September 2025. This full-time, long-term role is ideal for someone passionate about helping young people succeed both academically and personally.
About the Role:
As a HLTA, you will:
* Deliver small-group or one-to-one interventions across subjects such as English, Maths, and Science.
* Plan and lead learning activities under the guidance of teaching staff.
* Provide targeted support to students, including those with additional learning needs (SEN, EAL, or low prior attainment).
* Support class teachers in managing behaviour, engagement, and learning outcomes.
* Supervise classes during short-term teacher absences and provide cover when needed.
* Monitor student progress and communicate feedback to staff.
What We're Looking For:
* HLTA qualification or significant experience working at HLTA level in a secondary school.
* A strong understanding of how to support learners of different abilities.
* Excellent literacy, numeracy, and communication skills.
* Confident classroom presence and ability to lead small groups or whole classes.
* A proactive and flexible approach, with strong organisation and initiative.
* GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above); further qualifications are desirable.
