Location: Lancashire areaSalary: £35-£40kAn established and fast-growing food manufacturer in the Lancashire area is looking to appoint a Planning Coordinator to support production planning within a short shelf-life FMCG environment.This role would suit someone with experience in production planning, supply chain coordination, or manufacturing planning who enjoys working in a fast-paced food manufacturing setting and collaborating closely with operations, technical, and commercial teams.The RoleAs Planning Coordinator, you’ll support short- and medium-term production planning to ensure customer demand is met while minimising waste and managing shelf-life constraints. You’ll play a key role in maintaining service levels, food safety compliance, and operational efficiency.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport daily and weekly production planning for short shelf-life productsCreate and maintain detailed production schedules, considering shelf life, allergens, changeovers, and capacityCoordinate plans with Production, Technical, Engineering, and Procurement teamsMonitor labour, line capacity, and material availability to reduce downtime and late changesManage short-term demand changes, including late orders and volume fluctuationsSupport stock control of raw materials, packaging, and finished goodsProduce planning and performance reports (service level, forecast accuracy, stock KPIs)Support new product launches, promotions, and seasonal peaksEnsure planning activities comply with food safety and quality standards (e.g. BRCGS, HACCP)About YouEssential:Experience in a planning, production coordination, or supply chain role within food manufacturing or short shelf-life FMCGStrong understanding of production planning in a high-volume environmentExperience using ERP/MRP or production planning systemsGood knowledge of shelf-life management and waste reductionDesirable:Experience in chilled, fresh, or ready-to-eat food manufacturingUnderstanding of food safety standards such as BRCGS or HACCPExperience supporting promotions or new product launchesSkills & CompetenciesStrong organisational and coordination skillsConfident working in a fast-paced FMCG environmentAnalytical with good attention to detailStrong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionallyProactive, solution-focused approachGood IT skills, including ExcelWhat’s On OfferCompetitive salary dependent on experienceOpportunity to work within a well-established food manufacturing businessExposure to a fast-paced, short shelf-life environmentA role with genuine scope to develop within planning and supply chainIf you’d like to discuss this opportunity in more detail, please apply or get in touch for a confidential conversation.
