Are you an experienced leader with a passion for supporting young people autistic young people with complex needs? We are looking for a Residential Care Manager to lead, guide, and inspire a team of in delivering exceptional care and learning for the young people in our care.

Please note:, a holder of a full UK driving licence is preferred for this role.

Salary

£39,000 to £48,500 per annum depending on qualifications and experience

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, 52 weeks of the year Contract type: Permanent

About the Residential Care Manager role

As a Residential Care Manager, you will oversee the health, wellbeing, and development of the young people in your care. You will lead a team of autism practitioners, ensuring high-quality, autism-friendly strategies and practices are implemented in their daily support. Your leadership will be instrumental in guiding your team to exceed the care and learning standards as outlined by Ofsted and CQC.

With a focus on the holistic development of each young person, you will help them thrive by ensuring their individual needs are met and by creating a safe and supportive environment. As part of your role, you will also provide leadership in risk management, health and safety, and staff development, ensuring a positive and empowering work environment for your team.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead, line manage, coach, and mentor a team of autism professionals.
2. Support the recruitment, induction, and ongoing development of staff.
3. Ensure effective monitoring and management of staff attendance, performance, and wellbeing.
4. Oversee the implementation of autism-friendly strategies to support young people’s learning and wellbeing.
5. Support young people in developing their individual and group timetables.
6. Conduct regular reviews of young people’s progress and wellbeing, ensuring they receive high-quality, personalised care.
7. Safeguard the welfare of young people by ensuring safety protocols and safeguarding procedures are adhered to.
8. Manage the completion and accuracy of young people’s care plans and personal information in our database.
9. Ensure the safe management of young people’s personal belongings and finances.
10. Foster positive relationships with young people’s families and key stakeholders

Qualifications and Experience

11. Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management (or equivalent).
12. Level 5 Diploma in Health & Social Care is highly desirable.
13. At least two years of experience in autism/learning disabilities, with previous line management experience, including performance management.
14. Experience working with children/young adults with Autism Spectrum Conditions is highly desirable.
15. Coaching & Mentoring qualification (preferred).
16. Strong knowledge of national and regulations.

What pre-employment checks can I expect?

All offers of employment are subject to the successful completion of pre-employment checks. These include references, a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, proof of right to work in the UK, and any other relevant clearances.


How soon are being offered the role can I start?

All new staff will join our induction programme when they start at Prior’s Court. You will be booked onto the induction once you have completed all pre-employment checks.
