What you’ll be doing
as a Power Energy Data Analyst
This role begins as part of a high-profile programme and will transition into a live operational role reporting to the Head of Power. You’ll work with data from over 8,000 assets, developing metrics to assess and improve their resilience. Your insights will support strategic planning, risk mitigation, and performance optimisation across the Power function.
Your key responsibilities will include:
1. Leading the gathering, integration, and interpretation of operational data to generate actionable insights.
2. Providing detailed analysis to support planning, performance tracking, and risk mitigation.
3. Developing dashboards and reporting tools to support leadership decision-making.
4. Contributing to business cases with financial and risk-based analysis.
5. Supporting strategic planning and performance measurement across the Power function.
6. Collaborating with stakeholders across the business to ensure data-driven programme success.
7. Developing solutions and metrics to assess how resilient Thames Water’s 8,000+ assets are.
Location: You will be based at either Kemble Court, Maple Lodge WTW or Mogden STW.

What you should bring to the role
8. Previous experience as a data analyst. Has experience of starting from scratch using common tools (e.g. Excel) as well as working with more sophisticated analysis tools and techniques when data maturity evolves.
9. Strong IT literacy with emphasis on MS Excel within the MS Office suite- you will be a “power user” of the full scope of data analytics possible in Excel.
10. Experience with reporting/analysis/visualisation tools such as Power BI, SQL or similar.
11. Knowledge of Power Automate, Visio, and MS Forms or similar commonly used tools.
12. Ability to work under pressure and effectively prioritise conflicting requirements.
Desirable experience includes:
13. Experience related to the industrial use or provision of power (electricity).
14. Experience of risk management within a project/programme or business environment.
15. Experience and ability working on a programme project.

16. Offering between £43,000 to £48,000 depending on experience and skills
17. 26 days holiday per year, increasing to 30 with the length of service. (plus bank holidays)
