Sport Welfare Project Officer
Contract: Fixed term until March 2027
Hours: 30-37.5 hours per week (flexible working)
Location: Home-based with national travel
Reports to: Strategic Lead - Welfare
Active Partnerships is seeking a Sport Welfare Project Officer to support a national safeguarding and culture change initiative in sport. This fixed-term role involves practical support, insight, and collaboration across the country.
About the role:
This role supports a major national program to enhance safeguarding and welfare in grassroots sport. You will coordinate and support 63 Sport Welfare Officers nationwide, ensuring they have the necessary tools, support, and relationships.
Responsibilities include gathering insights, supporting operations, developing inclusive resources, and being a reliable contact to foster cultural change in sport.

Roles and Responsibilities:
* Deliver the national Sport Welfare Officer Programme effectively.
* Build positive relationships with stakeholders, including Sport England, CPSU, and ACT.
* Review evaluations, extract insights, and inform future activities.
* Create reports to support program evaluation.
* Coordinate meetings, events, and logistics.
* Assist with communication efforts for large events.
* Develop and improve tools, templates, and guidance for safeguarding practices.
* Ensure content is inclusive and accessible.
* Manage tasks and timelines through effective admin and communication.
* Travel approximately once or twice a month for regional and national events.
Knowledge and Skills:
* Excellent interpersonal skills and rapport-building.
* Strong organization and time management, especially remotely.
* Collaborative mindset and valuing diverse perspectives.
* Clear written communication tailored to different audiences.
* Ability to analyze feedback themes for decision-making.
* Basic understanding of safeguarding and welfare principles.
* Proficiency with digital tools (email, video calls, documents, spreadsheets).
* Self-motivated and proactive, with a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
Work Environment and Support:
* Home-based with regular online meetings.
* Travel approximately 1-2 times per month; occasional overnight stays.
* Flexible working options may be considered.
