The ideal Assessor for Education and Early Years will be responsible for facilitating learning and assessing learners on Early Years and Teaching Assistant programmes up to Level 3. This includes working with college-based learners and apprentices, delivering learning and assessment to groups and individuals across college, school and nursery environments to an exceptionally high standard.
You will also be responsible for assessing learner portfolios and, where qualified, internally verifying Early Years and/or Teaching Assistant programmes.
Successful candidates may be required to deliver a taught session in the evening (term time). Access to transport is essential to enable assessment visits to employer premises and learner placements at varying times.
The successful Assessor for Education and Early Years will have:
Appropriate vocational experience and a minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years or a related discipline
Experience working within the Education and Early Years sector
Vocational Assessor qualification (D32/D33, A1 or TAQA)
Internal Verifier qualification (D34/V1 or TAQA) – desirable
Ability to work with learners of all ages across a range of learning environments
Strong communication, organisation and assessment skills
ICT competence, including the use of electronic learner portfolios
A flexible, professional and learner-focused approach
