The Role: Join a small but globally distributed engineering team working in an agile environment at Western Global. This is a hands-on role offering exposure to all aspects of engineering, from concept to production. You’ll need to be comfortable working independently, managing multiple tasks, and switching focus quickly. This role is ideal for someone ready to take the next step in their career and broaden their responsibilities. Key Responsibilities: Play a key role in new product developments, designing fuel and water storage and management solutions to meet customer specifications while ensuring compliance with relevant standards and legislation. Take a lead role in commercial and product development projects. Contribute to the development and refinement of engineering processes and procedures. Conduct design studies and communicate findings through clear, concise technical reports. Review outputs from other engineers and draftspeople, including drawings and documentation. Take a lead role in project and product technical reviews. Collaborate with production teams and external manufacturers to support quality improvements and cost reduction initiatives. Provide engineering support across various business functions including project management, sales, and production. Travel, both to our production facilities and to customer sites globally, to assist in the manufacturing and commissioning of products. Skills & Experience Required: Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering or a related mechanically biased discipline. At least 5 years’ experience working in an engineering role. Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred). Ability to produce high-quality technical drawings, conforming to normative standards. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to work as part of a team and/or on your own initiative. Portray enthusiasm, passion, and ambition with a positive ‘can do’ attitude. Familiarity with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) tools and techniques. An understanding of manufacturing processes (welding, forming, machining etc.). Either hold, or be actively working towards Chartered Status with an engineering professional body. Additional Desirable Skills: Experience with one or more of the following: Sheet metal design. Pump systems. Fuel strage and handling. Exposure to ERP/MRP systems or PLM tools. Awareness of sustainability and environmental considerations in design. Awareness of quality management systems i.e. ISO9001 and how it relates to engineering activities within an organisation. What can we offer you in return for your talents?
