SEN Teaching Assistant – Chorley Location: Chorley, Lancashire Job Type: Full-time / Term Time Only Salary: £13.75 to £14.50 per hour, depending on experience Are you passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children with special educational needs? A specialist educational setting in Chorley is looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team. About the Role: This is a rewarding and hands-on role where you will be supporting children with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD) and severe Special Educational Needs (SEN). You will work closely with teachers and therapists to help pupils engage with their everyday school activities and lessons. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include: Providing tailored support to meet individual learning and care needs. Assisting pupils with personal care, including feeding, toileting, and hygiene needs. Supporting classroom-based activities and helping to adapt resources as needed. Promoting communication and independence. Creating a safe, positive, and nurturing environment for all pupils. Ideal Candidate: We are looking for someone who is: Patient, empathetic, and resilient. Proactive and able to work as part of a team. Comfortable supporting pupils with complex physical and learning needs. Willing and able to provide personal care when required. Previous experience in childcare, support work, or within a SEN environment is desirable but not essential. Full training will be provided for the right candidate. Requirements: A genuine passion for working with children with additional needs. Willingness to undertake an enhanced DBS check prior to starting. Ability to work Monday to Friday during term time.
