Aspiring Phycologist
Graduate Opportunity – Aspiring Educational Psychologist
Location: Reigate Sector: Special Needs | SEN | Psychology | Education Schedule: Monday–Friday, full time
Are you a psychology, criminology or education graduate motivated by supporting young people and making a meaningful difference? We’re looking for a committed Aspiring Educational Psychologist to join a vibrant, creative and supportive specialist school near Farnham, working with children with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and associated challenging behaviours.
This is an exceptional role for graduates seeking hands-on experience before progressing into Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Occupational Therapy or Speech & Language Therapy.
About the School
The school supports pupils aged 3–19 with a range of learning difficulties, often alongside sensory needs, physical disabilities or behavioural challenges.
A standout feature of the school is its fully integrated Therapy Department, including Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists. Therapists work closely with teaching staff, offering both individual sessions and blended, curriculum-embedded interventions.
This means you’ll gain daily exposure to therapeutic approaches, multidisciplinary teamwork and specialist SEN practice—giving you highly relevant experience for future postgraduate training.
Your Role as an Aspiring Educational Psychologist
1. Work 1:1 and in small groups to support pupils’ learning and engagement
2. Contribute to planning and adapting activities with guidance from teaching staff
3. Encourage social development, communication and emotional regulation
4. Provide both academic and pastoral support
5. Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
6. Work collaboratively with therapists and teachers to deliver consistent support
Experience with SEN is beneficial but not essential—enthusiasm, compassion and willingness to learn are what matter most.
