Research Support Officer
Starting Salary: £30,911 to £35,346 per annum
Location: MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology, Cambridge, UK
We are seeking a Research Support Assistant to join a project at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology (LMB), funded through a BlueSky collaboration with AstraZeneca (AZ). The successful candidate will work under Dr. Piotr Kolata in the group of Dr. Matteo Allegretti to investigate nuclear-cytoskeletal coupling.
The responsibilities include designing, expressing, and purifying variants of protein complexes involved in nuclear-cytoskeletal coupling, biochemical and biophysical characterization of these variants, and assessing their phenotypes in mammalian cell lines using confocal microscopy. The post holder will receive training in advanced biochemical, biophysical, and cell biology techniques to support the project objectives.
Qualifications: Applicants should hold a BSc in Life Sciences, Biochemistry, or a related field, with laboratory experience. An MSc is highly desirable. A strong interest in interdisciplinary and collaborative research is essential.
