Teaching Assistant Location: York, North Yorkshire Salary: £83 - £100 per day Start Date: September 2025 GSL Education are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to work at a Client Primary School, located in York, North Yorkshire, starting September 2025. Teaching Assistant Responsibilities: Provide individualised support to a student with special needs. Work with students on 1:1 or small group basis whenever required. Use appropriate strategies to manage student’s behaviour. Be patient and have a kind and caring approach. Build strong, trusting bonding with student. Provide emotional support during challenging situations. Teaching Assistant Requirements: Experience supporting students with special needs. A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2/3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools/EYFS). Experience in education, child development, or mental health support is desirable. Have a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices. Hold a Child only DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
