The role:
My client are seeking a Storage Platform Engineer to join their elite team.
You will work on enterprise Storage services at a rapidly expanding company, including build, design, architectural and support duties.
Responsibilities:
* Design, deployment and support of highly complex, distributed Storage platforms
* Architectural work around high throughput Storage solutions such as NFS, GPFS and WEKA
* Capacity planning and forecasting
* Automating Storage and tuning for optimum performance
* Working on and improving Observability practices for the varied Storage estate
Skills required:
* Strong Storage experience combined with a thorough understanding of Linux
* Experience with technologies such as NFS, GPFS, WEKA, Lustre, Ceph, or comparable
* Configuration Management via Chef or Ansible
* Experience working with a high level programming language (Python / Go / Rust)
* Good understand of CI/CD and the SDLC
* Experience with Observability within Storage (ELK / Datadog / Prometheus / Grafana etc.)
* Cloud based Storage experience (AWS / GCP)
Desirable:
* Cloudian / MinIO / S3
* General Storage hardware (arrays / JBOD’s / NVMe / SSD / HBA’s / Networked Storage)
* Data protection and backup
* HPC
