Northern State University, home to Wolves athletics, which sponsors 15 NCAA Division II
intercollegiate varsity sports that compete in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Athletic
Conference ( NSIC ) is seeking candidates for the Assistant AD – External Operations position.
The position responsibilities include but are not limited to leading efforts related to corporate
sponsorships, suites sales & premium seating, season ticket sales for the Wolves Club and annual
event fundraising for the department. In this role, the position is responsible to facilitate growth
and increase revenue by developing plans that will promote strategic revenue generation
opportunities and work closely with the NSU Foundation, Wolves Club Committee membership,
and athletics leadership to maximize results.
Reporting directly to and working with the Director of Athletics, the Associate Director of Athletics will develop the strategic plan for the fundraising program, manage a portfolio of prospects, oversee all departmental fundraising events and represent the Athletics Department at University and community events. As well as other duties that may be assigned by the Director of Athletics.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s preferred).
1-3 years of athletic administration experience at the collegiate level preferred.
A working knowledge of hosting NCAA championships and/or other major sports events
is preferred.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with colleagues,
student-athletes, and administrators.
* Demonstrated successful fundraising, marketing and promotion experience in athletics.
* Willingness to travel and work evenings and weekends as required
