As an Automation Engineer, you will support production automation, act as the first contact for automation issues, support breakdowns, lead continuous improvement initiatives, manage minor projects (<£50k), and address obsolescence risks. You will promote OT Security Standards, respond to OT Alerts, and enhance the automation skills of the local engineering team through targeted training.
In this role, you will…
* Work collaboratively to improve equipment performance and reliability.
* Follow SOPs/SWs, ensure GMP compliance, report quality issues, and uphold safety standards.
* Maintain all training requirements via the 'My Learning' platform.
* Participate in Continuous Improvement activities, including DMAIC, RCA, and CAPA.
* Serve as the initial contact for automation support related to production equipment breakdowns.
* Provide expertise on automated manufacturing and packaging processes.
Qualifications & Skills:
Basic:
* Recognized apprenticeship in Electrical, Instrumentation/Controls Engineering, or Computer Science discipline (or similar).
* Minimum HNC or equivalent in an engineering-focused area.
* Experience in a pharmaceutical or highly regulated manufacturing environment.
* Knowledge of Process Automation, Data Management Systems, and Interface Systems (e.g., OPC).
Preferred:
* Bachelor of Engineering or working towards it.
* Experience with Siemens equipment including S5, S7, PCS, TIA portal, and WinCC.
