We are a leading retailer and importer of luxury natural stone and porcelain flooring, and are currently expanding our operation. We are looking for an addtional Stone and Porcelain Workshop Operative to join our existing Workshop team in the Melton area.
We are looking for candidates with experience of working in a machinary/industrial environment - with full training provided for the right candidate
Role Overview:
Stone and Porcelain Workshop Operative will be responsible for assisting in the cutting, finishing, and preparation of stone and porcelain products. This hands-on role requires strong attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Operate tools and machinery for cutting and shaping stone and porcelain.
* Measure, mark, and cut tiles/pavers according to specifications and drawings.
* Carry out surface finishing, polishing, and edge profiling.
* Assist the Samples Team by ensuring sample stock is cut and replenished to agreed timescales.
* Produce wooden packing blocks for all warehouse teams, using woodworking tools.
* Prepare products for delivery, including wrapping and labelling.
* Maintain a clean and safe workshop environment.
* Follow all health and safety protocols, including correct handling and lifting techniques.
* Load and unload materials and assist with stock control.
* Carry out basic maintenance of workshop tools and equipment.
* Support other team members and take on additional duties as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Previous experience working with stone, porcelain, ceramics, or similar materials (preferred but not essential; training can be provided).
* Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
* Basic math and measuring skills.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and templates.
* Physically fit and capable of lifting heavy materials safely.
* Willingness to learn and take instruction.
* Reliable, punctual, and team oriented.
* Forklift license (desirable but not essential).
Working Conditions:
* Workshop environment with exposure to dust, noise, and machinery.
* Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required at all times.
* May involve occasional overtime or weekend work, depending on production demands.
Full time role - Monday – Friday 8am – 4:30pm (30 min unpaid lunch)

Pay: £25,500.00-£26,000.00 per year
