Description Who we're looking for We are looking for a motivated and resourceful individual to join our team on a temporary basis to provide maternity cover. This contract is expected to last for nine months, and we are seeking someone who can commit fully to this period. In this role, you’ll find that no two days are the same. You’ll be challenged to adapt quickly to shifting priorities - sometimes dropping what you’re doing to address high-priority needs as they arise. You’ll also build strong working relationships with our internal clients across the business, both in the UK and internationally. You will take ownership of your own set of responsibilities and deliverables, playing a key part in supporting the team as a Centre of Excellence for our global offices. The team The Health and Safety team sits within Group Risk and collaborates closely with Workplace Services, who manage our buildings and staff services. We are a collaborative team who work together to find the best solutions and continuously seek ways to improve. Our work is varied, and we welcome new ideas and approaches. We also support flexible working to help everyone balance personal and professional commitments. What you’ll do Help maintain a safe and supportive working environment at our HQ. Conduct regular HQ audits and ensure any issues are addressed in a timely manner. Observe fire drills and produce improvement reports, following up on recommended actions. Manage UK training requirements for emergency responders (e.g. First Aiders, Fire Wardens), ensuring adequate coverage at all times. Support the delivery of HQ-specific emergency responder training. Keep all health and safety communications (e.g. intranet, noticeboards) up to date. Assist with incident and accident reporting, and maintain business health and safety statistics. Support the administration of our e-learning platform, ensuring compliance requirements are met. Draft standard procedures and guidance documents. Help compile and maintain global health and safety registers, and provide guidance to users as needed. Manage the health and safety inbox, addressing queries promptly and appropriately. Maintain digital filing systems and provide general administrative support. Contribute flexibly to the team’s overall results and workload. The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need Proven experience working in an administrative role, preferably in a corporate environment. Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise, manage a varied workload, and deliver on time Excellent attention to detail and practical problem-solving abilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to work independently and take initiative. Excellent Office suite skills, particularly Excel What you’ll be like Enthusiastic and eager to contribute positively to the team. Quick to integrate and ready to make an immediate impact. Collaborative and a supportive team member. Self-motivated, proactive, and driven to achieve high-quality results. Able to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
