Vision for Education is working in partnership with a mainstream secondary school in Burnley to recruit a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support a student with autism on a 1:1 basis.
The Role

We are looking for a full-time Teaching Assistant to work closely with a secondary-aged student with autism, providing tailored one-to-one support both in and out of the classroom. You’ll assist with learning activities, encourage social development, and help the student access the curriculum in a way that suits their individual needs.
This role is set to begin in October 2025 and will continue for the full academic year.

Requirements
To be considered for this role, you will need:
1. Experience supporting secondary-aged students, ideally with autism or other additional needs
2. A minimum Level 2 qualification in childcare, support work, or a related field
3. Strong behaviour management and interpersonal skills
4. Confidence, initiative, and the ability to adapt to different situations in the school environment
5. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
You must be willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check (on the Update Service or willing to apply for a new one).
