Information and Data Services - Clerical/Admin Officer
Location: Plymouth, PL6 5WS (fully office based)
Contract: Temporary, currently until 4th December 2026 (may be a chance of an extension)
Hours: Full Time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm/9am-5pm (flexibility required)
Pay rate: £13.90ph, paid weekly
Start Date: Monday 15th June 2026
Reporting to the Land Charges Team, this role will help deliver a first‑class Tier 1 specialist service. The Team is responsible for IOPN searches, Land Charges Searches and Official Copies, together with ancillary duties, to achieve a three‑day speed of service.
Key Responsibilities
* Handle customer enquiries and referrals in relation to Land Charges correspondence, applying HM Land Registry practice and consulting HMLR Guidance to ensure correct procedures are followed, including taking telephone enquiries and contacting customers by telephone.
* Seek the advice of senior technicians and/or colleagues to deal with points outside the technical authority or ability.
* Take ownership of own development, building capabilities through continuous learning.
* Undertake other duties as required to meet business needs and support delivery of Land Charges statutes regarding speed of service.
* Maintain awareness of service and agency wide aims and standards required in the role.
* Support Land Charges management, fully participating in embedding any changes to deliver service improvements and responding to the ever‑changing environment and needs of customers.
* Stay connected to wider casework initiatives, whether national or at the local office, ensuring adoption and maintenance of relevant standard operating procedures.
Essential Skills
* Able to maintain attention to detail and accuracy with a capability to respond to gaps, errors and irregularities in information.
* Able to effectively follow written procedures.
* Experience working as part of a team to deliver common goals.
* Strong organisational and time management skills and the ability to work quickly, prioritising personal workload effectively.
* Able to demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills.
* Experience using Microsoft Office, including knowledge of Outlook, Word and Excel.
Requirements
* Successful candidates will be subject to a basic DBS check and 3 years of referencing.
