If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join a vibrant primary school in Tewkesbury as a Teaching Assistant.
This welcoming school is seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and adaptable individual to provide essential support to students across Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2, particularly those with challenging behaviour and SEND. In this role, you will help children engage with their learning, develop socially and emotionally, and create a nurturing, supportive classroom environment.
Role Details:
* Teaching Assistant
* Tewkesbury, Mainstream Primary School
* Start Date: ASAP
* Salary: £85 - £100 per day (depending on experience)
* Hours: Full-time, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm (Term-time only)
* Clear DBS: Required (or willingness to apply)
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 and small group support to children with challenging behaviour and SEND
* Implement strategies to encourage positive behaviour and maintain a calm, productive learning environment
* Assist with classroom activities, adapting support to each child's individual needs
* Help manage and de-escalate behavioural challenges in a positive, constructive manner
* Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and parents to ensure each child's needs are met
* Supervise students during lessons, outdoor play, and other activities, ensuring they feel supported and included
We're looking for someone who is patient, proactive, and adaptable, with the ability to support children with a range of social, emotional, and behavioural challenges. Experience in similar roles or SEND settings is an advantage, but we welcome applicants who are passionate about working with children and eager to develop professionally.
