Are you passionate about supporting learners to thrive, stay engaged, and achieve their potential?

Were looking for an Apprenticeship Mentor to join our Apprenticeship Academy at Peterborough College, where youll play a vital role in shaping positive outcomes for our apprentices. This is a part time (30 hours per week) fixed term contract to cover Maternity.

This is a rewarding, people-focused role where youll combine mentoring, pastoral support, personal development delivery and data-led interventions to help apprentices succeed both personally and professionally.

About the role

Reporting to the Group Apprenticeship Delivery Manager, youll work closely with curriculum teams, Student Services, ALS, Welfare, Careers, and employer partners to support apprentices across a diverse range of programmes.

The Apprenticeship Mentor will be responsible for:

* Delivering engaging personal development sessions aligned to the OFSTED Education Inspection Framework
* Providing pastoral support and acting as a key point of contact for apprentices in your caseload
* Identifying additional support needs and coordinating timely interventions, particularly for vulnerable learners
* Monitoring attendance, punctuality, retention and progress, using data to drive improvement
* Working collaboratively with employers to ensure apprentices are supported both on programme and in the workplace
* Supporting safeguarding, wellbeing and inclusion across the Apprenticeship Academy

Your work will directly contribute to high retention, strong attendance and positive destinations for our apprentices.

Who were looking for

Were keen to hear from candidates who:

* Have experience working with young people or adults in a support, mentoring or educational role
* Are confident delivering group sessions and building positive, professional relationships
* Understand the importance of safeguarding, inclusion and learner wellbeing
* Are organised, resilient and able to manage competing priorities
* Communicate effectively with learners, colleagues and external partners

A Level 2 qualification in learner support, mentoring or coaching is essential. Experience in an FE or apprenticeship environment is desirable but not essential we value attitude, empathy and commitment to learner success.
