Sous Chef – 4-Star Hotel & Leisure Resort (Cheltenham Area)
We're looking for a hands-on Sous Chef to join a busy, well-equipped kitchen in a 4-star hotel on the outskirts of Cheltenham. With 122 bedrooms, multiple dining outlets, spa, weddings and large M&E operations, this is a big, varied kitchen with a supportive Head Chef and straight shifts.
The Role Lead the kitchen brigade alongside the Head Chef
Take charge during service to ensure quality and consistency
Manage GP, stock control, costs and wastage
Support menu delivery — group-led menus with scope for specials and events
Oversee weddings, meetings, events and seasonal menu changes
Train, mentor and develop junior chefs
Maintain food safety, allergens and hygiene compliance
About You Experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie in a high-volume or hotel environment
Strong leadership and people management skills
Confidence running a busy pass and delegating effectively
Solid knowledge of GP, stock control and food safety
Flexible and comfortable with both à la carte and banqueting
Salary & Hours £40,000 per year
