Mechanical Data Centre Shift Engineer – Slough
Location: West London
Salary: £46K plus 10% Bonus
Hours: CONTINENTAL SHIFT
Our client, with over 40 years of reputation, is looking for a Critical Mechanical Shift Engineer to join their Reactive and Planned Maintenance Team on a Data Centre Site based in West London. The successful candidate will work a Continental Shift pattern and receive a salary of £46K plus a 10% annual bonus. Duties:
* Maintain environmental conditions and ensure 100% uptime of all M&E critical building systems.
* Perform Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), reactive, and breakdown works on mechanical and electrical systems as part of the 24/7 on-site team.
* Handle daily emergency callouts.
* Monitor Data Centre environments for changes, identify causes, and report findings to the team and customer.
* Support in maintaining 100% uptime of Customer Data Centres.
* Assist during post-move activities such as isolations, connections, and work permits, supporting contractors and engineers where needed.
* Maintain systems and assets using digital tools and platforms; training will be provided. Embrace new technologies and techniques.
* Complete logbooks and RAMS documentation.
* Demonstrate knowledge of AHU, FCU, UPS, Generators, LV systems, including fault-finding skills.
Requirements:
* Trade-trained with ideally 3 years’ experience in building services.
* City & Guilds Mechanical or Plumbing discipline, Parts 1 & 2, or equivalent apprenticeship.
* Willing to be authorized as Mechanical AP on site.
* Experience on critical sites such as Data Centres or Banking Sites.
