Role Overview
* A Management Accountant is required to prepare and deliver accurate monthly management accounts packs for multiple entities with commentary.
* The ideal candidate will have experience in improving and developing financial processes, particularly in SMEs.
Key Responsibilities:
Cost Control and Analysis
The Management Accountant will be responsible for conducting payroll analysis, ensuring accurate reporting of payroll costs, and managing cash flow forecasting and monitoring across the group.
This involves performing balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring the integrity of financial data.
VAT Compliance and Reporting
The successful candidate will prepare and submit VAT returns in compliance with HMRC regulations.
In addition, they will support the modernisation and automation of finance processes and systems.
Financial Insights and Decision Support
The Management Accountant will collaborate with operational teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
They will also assist with audit preparation and liaise with external auditors as required.
Requirements and Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you will likely come from an SME background, enjoy being hands-on, and have experience in improving and developing financial processes.
The ideal candidate should possess:
* QBE or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
* Strong understanding of management accounting, reconciliations, and VAT
* Experience in cash flow management and payroll analysis
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced, change-driven environment
* Excellent Excel skills and experience with accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, NetSuite)
* Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams
