Role Purpose:
You will join the team in the National Underwriting Centre (NUC) in delivering a high-quality service to our underwriters and brokers whilst practicing and developing technical capability and broader business skills in the Insurance Industry.
This is a key role created to support the Life Science and Technology teams in line with Chubb’s ambitious growth plans across the UKI and Commercial Insurance Practice.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist in the underwriting and processing of renewable business in line with our underwriting appetite, authority limits and business plan
2. Manage mid-term adjustments and general queries from brokers
3. Support the NUC operational processes by monitoring new business written and ensuring files are of an acceptable standard prior to NUC renewal
4. Prepare and update Multinational Request Forms to allow quotations from our Global Services team
5. Support in the booking/debiting of policy premiums
6. Update systems with key information to allow us to understand exposures and capacity
7. Support the Underwriters through liaison with and participation at meetings with brokers, clients and internal stakeholders
8. To meet company standards in respect of policy documentation, timeframe for quoting new and renewal business and compliance issues
9. Develop your knowledge and understanding of Industry Practices underwriting and Chubb’s appetite
10. To work within the framework of the Chubb Code of Conduct, Compliance policies, Peer Review and within the framework of the protocols established by the Company
11. Adopt a ‘phone first’ attitude when communicating with our Brokers
Experience Required:
12. Ideally 1 years’ experience in the insurance market is required however candidates with a Customer Service background/or Graduate will be considered
13. You will need to demonstrate a practical and common-sense approach to dealing with differing situations and an ability to tackle problems often against tight time frames
14. Minimum A level or equivalent qualification
15. Competent in Microsoft Office
16. Expected to undertake “on the job” training. This may involve working in other Chubb offices
This is a hybrid role which requires a minimum of 3 days in the office weekly and flexibility where training/meetings are required.
