Offer description

Are you an experienced electronics engineer with a knack for functional testing and fault-finding? Looking for a role that will allow you to roll up your sleeves, take ownership of critical test processes, and ensure that high-reliability systems perform at their best?

We're working with a world-leading aerospace and defence technology provider located in Fife, Scotland, as they look to strengthen their Manufacturing Test Engineering team on the back of several new and exciting projects.

This role focuses on developing and maintaining test solutions to ensure high performance and quality across the product lifecycle in a low-volume, high-reliability manufacturing environment.

What will you be doing?
This is a key senior role in the manufacturing team, and will involve a variety of tasks, allowing you to contribute across multiple aspects of the production test process. You can expect to be involved in the following:

1. Managing and optimising test processes throughout the product lifecycle, focusing on cost, cycle time, yield, and diagnostics.

2. Supporting and enhancing functional test solutions, including updates to hardware and software.

3. Collaborating with design engineering to resolve issues and contribute to early-stage product development through DFM/DFT input.

4. Leading root-cause analysis and continuous improvement activities, with a focus on first-time yield.

5. Mentoring junior engineers and technicians, while clearly presenting technical content to stakeholders.

To thrive in this role, you will have:

6. An HND or degree in Electronics Engineering or a related subject.

7. Experience in functional test engineering, ideally within a defence or aerospace manufacturing environment.

8. Strong diagnostic skills and fault-finding ability across analogue and digital electronic systems.

9. A methodical, data-driven approach with a clear communication style for technical reporting.

Familiarity with high-reliability standards and exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies would be beneficial, but not essential.

Due to the security requirements of this position, candidates must have British Citizenship, Settled Status, or Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) in the UK. Additional background checks may be required.

In return, you can expect:

10. A competitive salary, between £45k - £60k DOE, and access to their discretionary bonus scheme.

11. 25 days' holiday (rising to 27 with service) PLUS public holidays.

12. Up to 10.5% employer pension contribution.

13. 6× salary Life Assurance.

14. Enhanced family leave policies.

15. Early finish on Fridays.

16. On-site canteen with subsidised costs and free EV charging.

17. Flexible working options and a strong culture of professional development.
