Holmen Board and Paper is a Swedish company and a member of the Holmen Group. The Workington Mill produces premium paperboard under the Incada brand. Our paperboard supports the shopping experience for our clients’ customers. Since 2013 we have powered the mill almost entirely by fossil-fuel-free energy. We value our employees and products highly. The mill has approximately 340 co-workers and is located to the west of the Lake District in the north of England.
Your future challenge
We are seeking applications from experienced E/I Craftspersons to join our skilled team. The successful applicants will be part of a daywork rota system (Monday to Friday). Some 12-hour shifts will be required and participation in the on-call rota may be involved. A generous holiday allowance of ten days leave every 7.5 weeks is built into the rota.
Responsibilities
* Provide engineering resources to carry out preventative, predictive and reactive maintenance for all areas of the site.
* Offer expertise in most engineering disciplines to carry out plant modifications.
* Adhere to health, safety and environmental procedures and engineering standards.
* Maintain the mill in an optimum and safe condition.
* Use the engineering management system to source parts/information and report history in work orders.
* Diagnose faults and take action to rectify them.
* Adhere to the permit to work/isolation system.
* Work safely within safety and skill remit.
Qualifications
* A recognised Engineering apprenticeship (NVQ Level 3 minimum).
* A minimum of one year practical experience in a process industry.
* Computer literacy with knowledge of Windows Office suite.
* Working knowledge of Plant Management databases.
* Appropriate Health and Safety training – IOSH Working Safety (minimum preferred).
