About the role: As a Finance Data Analytics Engineer, your role will oversee the management of finance data technology and toolkits critical for maintaining the integrity, quality, and upkeep of Ocado Group's financial data. This position requires a strong understanding of financial data and data process domains (S2P, R2R, P2R, A2R, etc.), including both master and transactional data objects. A thorough understanding of data policy requirements and adherence to data governance principles is essential. Following a successful transformation program, the finance data platform developed to support continuous improvement initiatives has transitioned into a Business as Usual (BAU) capability. In this context, you will assume responsibility for the ongoing maintenance and enhancement of this platform. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is integral to your role, where you will play a key part in establishing and enforcing data governance policies, procedures, and standards. This will be underpinned by a newly introduced Group Data function, aimed at ensuring data quality, governance and compliance across Ocado group. This role sits within the finance systems and transformation team and reports into the Finance Data Governance Manager. The role will also have a dotted line into the Group data function. Some of your key responsibilities will include: Data Collection and Processing: Gather and compile financial data from various sources, including internal databases and external sources Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and integrity Make regular cuts of required data available in the finance data platform Data Analysis Measurement of data quality and KPIs using business and data rules Identify trends and patterns to drive data improvements Using dashboards and reporting, monitor areas that require improvement and bring to attention of data owners and stewards Reporting Prepare and generate regular financial reports for business colleagues and other stakeholders Create dashboards and visualisations to communicate key data insights effectively Data Roles and Responsibilities Ensure stakeholders that are identified in data roles have the correct levels of support from the finance data team to perform their required tasks Support the finance data stakeholders to monitor and maintain their data Cross-functional Collaboration Collaborate with other departments, such as IT, HR, and other relevant departments to understand their financial needs and provide analytical and data governance support Foster a data-driven culture within the finance department Data Governance Audits and Reporting Conduct regular audits of financial data governance processes Generate and distribute reports on data governance metrics and compliance Work with Group data governance function to ensure alignment to centralised governance principles Ad-Hoc Analysis Respond to ad-hoc requests for financial analysis from finance or other areas of the business Provide insights and recommendations based on specific financial inquiries What we’re looking for: Proven experience in a finance engineering\analytics or a related role Experience in developing and maintaining the finance data platform (Extract Transform Load (ETL) management, rule register(s), reference data etc) Experience in developing and maintain dashboards and reports (e.g. governance dashboards, miscoded transaction reporting, DQ and Housekeeping reports etc) - Looker studio experience a plus Google BigQuery (experience a plus) Looker Studio (experience a plus) Experience with supporting data governance initiatives to improve Finance data quality Liaising with the Reporting Centre of Excellence (RCoE) and technology teams to ensure consistency of data delivery High level understanding of Finance ERP related data sets across S2P, R2R, P2R, A2R etc - both master & transactional data object What do I get in return: 30 Day ‘work from anywhere’ policy Remote working for the month of August 25 days annual leave, rising to 27 days after 5 years service (plus optional holiday purchase) Pension scheme (various options available including employer contribution matching up to 7%) Private Medical Insurance 22 weeks paid maternity leave and 6 weeks paid paternity leave (once relevant service requirements complete) Train Ticket loan (interest-free) Cycle to Work Scheme Opportunity to participate in Share save and Buy as You Earn share schemes 15% discount on Ocado.com and free delivery for all employees Income Protection(can be up to 50% of salary for 3 years) and Life Assurance(3 x annual salary) LI-JT1
