We have a varied and interesting role as a Medical Officer for the right candidate to join our team on a Permanent basis.
The Medical Officer will be part of a multi-disciplinary area team and report to a Senior Manager. They will be professionally accountable to the Executive Director (Medical) for their specialty. The post-holder must be a fully registered medical practitioner and hold the MRCPsych or equivalent or be eligible for accreditation as an AMP. They must have experience of providing medical psychiatric care and working in a multidisciplinary team across a range of psychiatric sub-specialities.
The role also requires excellent IT, written and verbal skills.
You must have an excellent understanding of the mental health and learning disability agenda in Scotland and the capacity to influence and negotiate with high-level colleagues in the health, social care and voluntary sectors. They must also be able to communicate effectively and empathically with mental health and learning disability service users, carers and advocates Also, you must have experience in the application of, and excellent understanding of, mental health and incapacity legislation in Scotland. Experience of working with Mental Health Officers and knowledge of their role is required.
