Love live events? Not afraid of a bit of hard graft? Want to be right at the heart of the action when the curtain goes up?
We’re looking for enthusiastic, hands on people to join our Show & Events Crew at two of Ipswich’s most iconic venues, the Ipswich Regent Theatre and the Corn Exchange. This is a very exciting time to join our team. You will play a central role in assisting all aspects of stage and backstage management of our celebrated and historical venues, helping the technical staff with load in and load outs and ensuring the highest standard of support to our visiting productions. From West End musical, top tier comedy, live music, dance, family shows and our much loved professional pantomime, no two days or nights are ever the same.
What you’ll be doing
As part of our backstage crew, you’ll help make every show run smoothly by:
* Loading and unloading trucks (scenery, lighting, sound and equipment)
* Setting up and breaking down shows – LX, PA, AV, staging and Mojo barriers
* Assisting with lighting focus, cable running and taping
* Keeping the stage show ready (sweeping, hovering, general prep)
* Supporting visiting companies with load‑ins and get‑outs
* Helping backstage with wardrobe, follow spot or catering (where required and skills allow)
* Keeping backstage areas safe, tidy and well maintained
* Assisting with venue upkeep, painting, storage and cable management
Health & safety is central to everything we do; full training will be provided.

* Positive, energetic and happy to roll your sleeves up
* A good communicator who works well in a team
* Calm under pressure and able to think on your feet
* Interested in theatre, live events or technical production
* Experience in theatre or events is a bonus, but not essential – we’ll train you.
Hours & Flexibility
This is a flexible, casual role, ideal to fit around other commitments.
* No full‑time pressure
* Opportunity to pick up additional hours, including evenings and unsociable hours pay
Benefits
* Friendly, supportive and passionate team
* Work behind the scenes in historic, high‑profile venues
