Overview
Drug and Alcohol Assertive Outreach Worker role within North Yorkshire Horizons, Scarborough. The service is part of a multi-disciplinary MDOM team, delivering individualised support packages for people experiencing problematic drug and alcohol use and engaging in harm reduction outreach to connect individuals with wider treatment and support.
This position sits in a service led by Waythrough (formerly Humankind) with partners, supporting recovery, public health initiatives and the reintegration of service users into the community.
Responsibilities
* Deliver effective harm reduction interventions, including needle exchange, Blood Borne Virus interventions and advice around injecting related issues
* Promote harm reduction, public health initiatives, messages and campaigns
* Work with multi-agency partners to reduce harms and comorbidities associated with multiple disadvantage
About you / Qualifications
* Proven experience of engaging with people
* Understanding of issues faced by people in relation to drug and alcohol use
* Knowledge of completing service user assessments including risk assessments
* A level 3 NVQ in Health and Social Care, or equivalent
* Good IT skills
* Driving licence and access to a vehicle is required for this role
