Job Description:
Virginia Peninsula Community College is a two-year institution of higher education established as a part of a statewide system of community colleges. It primarily serves the residents of the cities of Hampton, Newport News, Poquoson, and Williamsburg, and the counties of James City and York.
This position provides support for noncredit Workforce Development adjunct instructors at Virginia Peninsula Community College. Duties include collecting and compiling data; supporting instructors with required class paperwork and forms; and creating and compiling class workbooks and other course materials. Working collaboratively with both faculty, staff and administration, this position assists in being certain that all classes are delivered and managed with the highest degree of professionalism and customer service possible. This position will also provide “back-up” support for the facilities program as well as credentials reporting support for the noncredit registrar (WES).

* This position will require an occasional alternate work schedule and may be required to work evenings, nights and weekends as necessary. *Continuation of employment is based on funding availability. * Minimum Qualifications:
Significant work experience related to instructional and/or training program support for industrial skill learners; audio visual technology; business; higher education; internal and external customer service and student information systems.
Knowledge
• General knowledge of adult education best practices and methodologies.
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of Division programs and events.
• General knowledge and understanding of event setup and room layouts.
• Working knowledge and understanding of postsecondary credit and non-credit program offerings.
• Thorough knowledge of and ability to use a variety of software including word processing, presentation, spread sheet, database, and communication packages.
Skills
• Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
• Skill in teaching and curriculum development as well as presentation and materials design for facilitation.
Abilities
• Ability to work productively and cooperatively with faculty, staff and learners.
• Ability to use effective communication skills, both oral and written.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize workload, anticipate, and meet deadlines.
• Ability to accurately prepare and maintain records, files, and reports.
