Job Summary
We are seeking to recruit a full‑time Band 8a Senior Applied Psychologist in Adult Community Mental Health (Planned Care) at Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (BCHFT). You would join our community‑based psychological therapies service for working age adults within secondary care services; you would work within our Community Mental Health Team in Dudley Northand potentially across the locality according to service need.
We would also welcome applications from newly qualified Psychologists who are seeking a Preceptorship post from Band 7 to 8a.
About Us
We are a combination of Practitioner Psychologists, CBT Therapists and DBT Therapists offering a range of group and individual therapies in line with recovery models of care and trauma‑informed practice. There are opportunities to apply and develop your time‑limited psychological skills in CBT, DBT, EMDR, ACT, CFT, CAT and brief psychodynamic therapy.
Responsibilities
 * See clients with a range of complex mental health problems including CPTSD, personality disorders, psychosis, bipolar disorder, and moderate/severe presentations of depression and anxiety.
 * Provide psychological therapies (CBT, DBT, EMDR, ACT etc.) delivering individual and group interventions.
 * Maintain regular appropriate supervision, reflective practice and CPD to support professional growth.
 * Take part in leadership and service development activities, including advanced therapeutic skills development.
 * Participate in multi‑disciplinary team work across the four localities (Wolverhampton, Sandwell, Dudley and Walsall), and collaborate with Tier 1 staff, Recovery College and VCSE partners.

Person Specification
Essential
 * Doctoral level training in applied psychology as accredited by BPS
 * HCPC registration as Practitioner Psychologist
 * Experience of working with mental health clients
 * Experience of MDT working
Desirable
 * Post‑doctoral training in one or more additional specialised area of psychological practice
 * Experience of working within CMHT
 * Evidence of continuing professional development
 * Evidence of training in supervision
 * Evidence of experience in research and audit
